Hi everyone! My name is Anna Zernova, I am an English Instructor. For the time being I am working with adults and teaching some Business English.
I have been teaching English for more than 15 years. On the one hand, there have been lots of engaging ideas. On the other hand, there have been disappointing things. Lessons that did not work at all, or lessons that brought self-complacement and a sense of accomplishment, lessons when I felt I was a complete failure, or lessons which had been perfectly prepared and taught. The only one thing I know is that I absolutely adore teaching and everything I have to face in my teaching practice.
I graduated from Moscow State Open Pedagogical University named after M.A. Sholokhov. First four years were devoted to studying and to teaching: after the university I taught kids and teens at school of additional education. Then I spent 2,5 years interpreting and translating for Russian Space Agency and also for some South Korean space industry companies working with Russian engineers in Russia. I can’t say I’m too much of a fan of technical English, but that period of time was very fruitful and insightful for me.
I spent 2 years working on my own, being self-employed, giving private classes.
I also devote myself to my son Yaroslav, he is turning 8 in June 2018, and that’s why I am currently in the look-out for materials for teaching him, too. Moreover, recently we’ve taken up a challenge of speaking Spanish with him. Fantastic, shall I say!
I am sure that the best tricks and ideas of teaching find you when you read blogs, methodology books and observer other teachers conduct their lessons. I took up a challenge to start my blog to share my own ideas and notes on teaching. As you can see, I write not only about my teaching practice, but also about my blogging habits and things that I take liking to as well
I am really looking forward to hearing from you!
Thank you!
Hi Anna! I stumbled across your blog (via Sandy Millin, I think?) and it’s AWESOME! 😀 Looking forward to reading more of your teaching ideas!

Hi Anna! I don’t have an ELT blog- I just keep all my ideas organized in Google Drive- but I enjoy reading http://azargrammar.com/teacherTalk/blog/ and https://svetlanaurisman.wordpress.com/. 🙂
